Artborne Erdeborn
We live and work in the former vicarage of Erdeborn since 2009.

Erdeborn is a quiet village in the East of Germany, Europe. It lies hidden away in the countryside, a real juwel embedded by hilly pastures.
A restful place! Where contemplation comes almost naturally in the midst of nature.
You can walk to the nearest lake in about one hour. Or also cycle around it. This lake is called the Sweet Lake (Süßer See). That is, if you translate literally, as the word for "sweet" is the same word used to denote "fresh water" (versus "salt water").
This region also hosts Germany´s vineyards most up north. The vines around the Sweet Lake (Süßer See) are part of the greater Saale-Unstrut area.
Our hilly region with its agricultural landscape represents the eastern foothills of the Harz mountains. The Harz is the highest mountain range in northern Germany. The Harz is densely wooded - mostly spruce trees- and covers a large area. It encompasses a major nature reserve: the Harz National Park. → Check Wikipedia
Landmarks in this region form the pyramids... they are mine heaps, the accumulated remains of more than 800 years of mining industry. Extraction products were mainly copper, silver, lead, zinc and mineral salts like potassium.
For instance, is known that the father of the great reformator Martin Luther made his fortune with copper mining.
Erdeborn lies in so-called Luther´s land as the birth house and death house of the famous reformator Martin Luther lie nearby in the city of Lutherstadt-Eisleben.
The former evangelical vicarage of Erdeborn was built in its present state between 1734 and 1736.
By and by we are renovating this cozy mansion which offers us lots of space and is surrounded by a beautiful garden.

LEIPZIG
And last but not least: We are only 70 kilometers away from the major city Leipzig. ( German pronunciation: [ˈlaɪ̯pt͡sɪç] )
Johann Sebastian Bach worked in Leipzig as a cantor in the famous St. Thomas´s Church (Thomaskirche). And the composer Richard Wagner was born in Leipzig. Robert Schumann was also active in Leipzig music, having been invited by Felix Mendelssohn when the latter established Germany's first musical Conservatoire in the city in 1843. Gustav Mahler was second conductor at the Leipzig Theater.
You can visit several museums in Leipzig. For instance the Museum of Fine Arts (in German: "Museum der bildenden Künste"). It covers artworks from the Late Middle Ages to Modernity and regularly hosts contemporary art shows.
